Gordie's Review (2.5  years old) – the shopping carts!

Cost: $5.71 per child 8 months to 6 years.
Age Range: 6 and under.
Surface: the climbing areas have mats. The eating and ‘driving lane’ have a smooth industrial flooring.
Footwear: Socks.
Safety Features/Concerns: The door to the play area is locked. To get out you have to push a button on the wall while you turn the handle.
Play Area Features: Little Tykes climbers, play houses and kitchens; ride on toys with a driving track; baby area with soft play mats.
Additional Services: Full service coffee bar that is accessible to the public. The coffee shop is separated from the play area with a locking door, but parents can access the cafe items through a window.

Overall: Coffee & S’cream doesn’t change much from year to year. They have found a winning combination and they stick with it. They are obviously doing something right as they have been around for 7 years while many indoor play places have come and gone.

We’ve gone to Coffee & S’cream more than any other indoor play place - it’s the closest to our house and it’s perfect for toddlers. Gordie is at a great age for it right now. He can be completely independent while I have coffee with a friend. Last time we were there he enjoyed playing with the basket ball hoop, riding along on the ‘race track’ and his favorite – pushing the shopping cart.

One of my favorite things about the space is the huge windows that run along almost the entire length of the play area. They also have an area that is geared specifically to babies set up right next to the eating area. Its not separated from the rest of the play area.

We usually stay for lunch while we were there and I always end up ordering the ‘egg screamer’ which is basically an egg McMuffin but way better. The food is all made to order so it’s a good idea to order around 20 minutes before you would actually want to eat. They have a great kids menu that will please even the pickiest kids and are all under $4.00.

Coffee and S’cream is busiest mid-morning, especially on Friday and is always less busy in the afternoons. Generally, I find you can get a seat if you are there by 10, but not on a really busy day. Even on a busy day it will usually clear out enough so you can get a table for lunch. If you have an early riser, you may want to think about going first thing in the morning. Because of the coffee shop, they open at 7am. I’ve been there at 8am and you basically have the place to yourself.

  1. I definitely need to take Max back here. I bought the Groupon passes and haven't been since!
